She's a Runner, Rebel and a Stunner

Perfectly Imperfect. That's me.

 What are your fitness goals?
I'm working on being able to complete a 5k in under a half hour - that's my main goal. I've got the distance business down pat, but I'm a slowpoke extraordinaire. I'm training now on a treadmill, and once I hit the 5k in 30 goal, I'll enroll in my first actual race - but with no real delusions of racing, more or less just completing.

Vegetarian, vegan, veta-vita-vegamin, what exactly are your eating habits of choice?
I'm an odd duck. I'm a fairly recent vegetarian (even when I did eat meat, I avoided red meat like the plague - I've always hated it!). Sushi, though, is my weak spot, and while my usual option is a veggie roll, I'm not above caving for a California or Caterpillar roll! I cut out dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs) from my basic diet, although I do still eat whole wheat breads, pancakes, etc... that use dairy ingredients., but I won't cook/order/etc them solo. My primary food sources are fruits and veggies, brown rice / whole grain breads, nuts, and soy meat (gotta love that Boca!). What did I tell ya - QUACK!

What are your hobbies or passions outside of food and fitness?
FOOTBALL! I'm world's biggest NFL addict. I'm an English major, and I devour everything from Dostoevsky to Marie Claire. I'm an equal opportunity reader! Fashion has a huge piece of my heart, and I find psychology especially fascinating too.

What's your weakness?
As far as foods go, I'm your typical want it/need it/gotta have it Chocoholic.
As far as challenges in eating appropriately, it's portions. I'm still learning to listen to my body and hear its actual hunger, as opposed to emotional/bored/stress/social eating urges. I can easily eat an adequately portioned meal but still want to continue to eat; it always takes a conscious decision to understand when I'm physically full and stop!

Favorite eats?
Coffee with almond milk and truvia. Every morning. Or someone may lose an eye. Dark chocolate Hersheys Kisses are also always around for the same reason.
For "real food", I'm a huge fan of Boca and Morningstar Farms products, Seitan (gluten meat substitute), Clif Bars, brown rice, hummus, plain almonds, and a wide assortment of beans, fresh fruits (favorites are mango, peaches, and pineapple) and veggies (completely addicted to broccoli, spinach, zucchini, eggplant, and summer squash). I'm also a sushi monster!

Things you won't touch?
Everything about mayonnaise freaks the hell out of me. Mushrooms, raw onions/peppers, and white carbs are also no-go zones for me.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers would have been spot-on if they'd added easily entertained goofball into that lineup. What can I say.
